Unsecured creditors of collapsed glazing contractor Multi Fab are set to receive a paltry dividend after administrators closed out the wind-down of the business.

In a final progress report, joint administrators Robert Ferne and Jeremy Karr of BTG Begbies Traynor confirmed that unsecured trade creditors would receive just £7,716, or 1 per cent of their overall claims.

In their previous progress report, published in December 2025, the administrators said they did not expect to secure any return for unsecured creditors.

But additional recoveries realised during the administration generated sufficient funds to support a small distribution, they said.

Overall, the administrators recovered £294,427 from Multi Fab’s assets, including plant, machinery, stock and debtor recoveries.

This was less than half of approximately £650,000 of recoverable assets estimated when the company entered administration.

The final administrators’ report also confirmed that Multi Fab’s former employees, whose pensions and holiday pay claims totalled £17,083, received a full payout.

HMRC, which ranked as a secondary preferential creditor, was also paid in full on claims totalling £79,633.

Although a fixed-charge distribution of £17,755 was paid to private equity firm Elaghmore, the administrators said there were insufficient funds to make payments to other secured creditors.

They added that they had tried to sell the business but no offers were received.

As a result, the administrators filed a notice to move Multi Fab from administration into dissolution, bringing the company’s insolvency process to a close.

Multi Fab entered administration in May 2025 alongside sister company English Architectural Glazing (EAG).

Both firms were subsidiaries of Clarison Group, which collapsed in July 2024.

EAG’s administration, which other administrators from BTG are handling, has been extended until 29 May next year.
